Structural Monitoring

Overview

We instrument the assets you cannot afford to lose and watch how they actually behave under load, rather than waiting for the next inspection window. We measure strain, movement and settlement directly, then calculate failure modes such as fatigue from that data and track them over time. Asset condition becomes something you can act on.

Catching change early shifts the economics of the asset. A developing crack or accelerating settlement becomes a trend you can see coming rather than a surprise. Repairs get planned around production instead of forcing an unplanned outage, and a controlled intervention replaces the risk of a sudden failure with people working nearby.

It also lets you base decisions on measured condition rather than a conservative assumption. Knowing how a structure is really behaving means you can safely defer capital replacement and extend service life, instead of spending the capex to retire an asset while it still has years of safe life left.

How we work

    Define what mattersWe identify the failure modes that threaten the asset and the signals that reveal them, under a plan you approve before anything is installed.

    InstrumentSensors are selected on three tests: accurate enough to act on, robust enough to live on plant, and at a cost the asset justifies.
  3. 03
    Commission and captureEach sensor is proven to read true before anyone relies on it. From there, the data streams continuously.
  4. 04
    InterpretEvery signal is analysed, and when the data shows the structural integrity is being affected, an engineering review follows. The recommendation may call for an inspection or deeper analysis before the intervention is settled, and findings are drawn together in an integrity report at an agreed cadence.

Argus & the structural digital twin

Argus holds the asset's structural digital twin, and for a monitored asset the twin carries real measured behaviour: readings anchored to the elements they come from, trending over time. Algorithms run the calculations and flag what changes; engineers review every flag. It is how the readings turn into engineering decisions, not just dashboards.
